The first edition of Sir Rocco Forte Captain’s Trophy will take place at the Verdura Resort from 10 to 13 September 2026.
The Event
The Sir Rocco Forte Captain’s Trophy is an exclusive project that brings to life a world class golf event, set in an iconic venue such as Verdura Resort and featuring a legendary global golf icon.
The event includes two days of competition in Stableford format (36 holes), with both an individual leaderboard and a team leaderboard for golf clubs. A world golf legend will host a golf show and will be interviewed during one of the event dinners.
Completing the event format, a dedicated talk show will explore the relationship between technology and economic development, led by a prominent figure from the world of economics and finance, creating a cross disciplinary dialogue between performance and future vision.

Colin Montgomerie
Colin Montgomerie is a true legend of the world of golf.
He won the European Tour Order of Merit eight times. Winner of 54 tournaments, including 31 on the European Tour. In the Ryder Cup he represented Team Europe eight times (never losing a singles match) and captained the winning team in the 2010 Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor.
He won three senior majors on the PGA Tour Champions and has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). He is a renowned golf course architect, founder of the Colin Montgomerie Golf Academy and a television commentator.
